Some have been in some of our shows before, but they’re not just locals that wanted to be in a play, they are very successful around the world and they are very professional,” said Meece. I’m really proud of them, there are really talented people here. “There are quite a few locals that are in the show. Running at the Savannah Theatre for a total of 18 performances, featuring a local cast that Meece is especially proud of. Thus, plans were put into motion to bring back the popular production. We just thought this was a great time to have another fun show,” said Michael Meece, director of the musical. “It was one of our most popular shows in our 20 years of being here, and producing shows at the theater. There’s no better show than ‘Elf’ to do that,” said Meece. “Everything we do at the theater is an attempt to entertain our audiences so that they can have two hours of fun and forget any other tensions that they might be feeling. 4-27, the musical will be performed live at the historic Savannah Theatre, featuring a plethora of local Savannah talent. “Elf the Musical” is based on the popular motion picture. Anyone know how to get into 'Standard Mode'?* (I have Linux but last time I installed it, it ended with me formatting my computer entirely so I'm steering clear of it for a while!) Ironically, you can Emulate Windows 3.1 under Linux but as far as I can tell, not under Windows so I'll be settling for no sound. :DĮDIT: Been away and researched this some more. If anyone knows of easy-to-use software that will emulate Windows 3.1 Standard Mode that would be good cause we can all get the sound up and running but otherwise I'd just enjoy the fantastic animations and get by without the sound. Enhanced mode was for 80386 systems but at the time most people were using standard mode as it ran much quicker than enhanced mode - presumably why Interplay chose to leave the sound out of enhanced mode. Sorry to get technical but Standard mode was the way Windows 3.1 set up the memory for 80286 systems. I don't know of any software that runs under windows that will emulate windows 3.1. You would need a program to emulate Windows 3.1 or alternatively install Windows 3.1 on your computer, but that might be a bit excessive for the sake of a few sounds. Pokemon the evil inside8/3/2023 The Bible clearly delineates that these two kinds of creatures are surrogates of evil and God-fearing Christians should thus avoid them at all costs. For example, Ekans (backwards for "snake") is a serpent Pokemon and Charizard and Dragonite are dragons. Many Pokemon take on vile forms that the Bible clearly warns against. They conjure fire, water, thunder storms, and other phenomena that go against God. Pokemon, in general, are purveyors of supernatural abilities. While the Pokemon craze is nowhere near as strong as it used to be, the unnatural ways in which devilish creatures like Pikachu and Jigglypuff seize the hearts and minds of little children is a clear sign of the Devil's handiwork. Once such influence is Pokemon, or POCKet MONsters, which is notorious for incorporating Eastern mysticism and witchcraft into deceptively cute and cuddly Satanic creatures. The entertainment industry is rife with corrupting influences that force the occult and the anti-Christian upon the children of the world. Universal Life Church ministers should be aware that these people exist and should make an effort to counteract their fear mongering whenever our ministers encounter it. While they represent a small minority of the population, some radical Christians find Biblical reasons for why childhood crazes like Pokemon are "occult" and "evil". Please note that this sermon was written from the perspective of some overly-sensitive adults actually believe in the ideas expressed below. George observatory8/2/2023 You can also look through smaller telescopes in addition to the larger ones to understand what you're viewing. Real-time camera feeds from the large telescopes are also displayed on monitors.įeel free to interact with the astronomers on staff and ask them questions. Astronomers on standby will serve as your guides as you gaze into the solar system, spot the constellations and admire the moon. On the upper deck of the George Observatory you can enjoy constellation laser tours of the sky, peer through the lenses of deck and dome telescopes and view captured live camera feeds. Photography courtesy of the Houston Museum of Natural Science / Photographer: Mike Rathke Open only on Saturday nights, this astronomy observatory has three domed observatories with telescopes-and one of them is a 36-inch Gueymard Research Telescope that weighs about 10 tons. George Observatory is a mesmerizing and unique Houston attraction. While it’s not quite the same experience as the one you’d get at the observatory, the shows provide an extra dose of interstellar educational content, covering topics like the hypothetical existence of a ninth planet in our solar system and the death and birth of stars.Keep reading for everything to know to make the most out of your visit to Houston's George Observatory. Dealing with bad weather? Swap natural skies for the university’s planetarium, which provides free star shows to the public a handful of times every month. Just a little over an hour north of Downtown is the Sam Houston State University Observatory in Huntsville, which offers open observatory nights perfect for stargazing. Rent a campsite and stay overnight to enjoy the atmosphere at its darkest, and while you’re waiting for the sky to dim, make the most of the forest’s trails and lakes by hiking, biking, and canoeing the day away. The forest is only an hour away from the city, but it’s just far enough for the tree canopy to block Houston’s light pollution, so the stars are the only things brightening the night sky. But in fact, Sam Houston National Forest’s trees are the key to its stargazing greatness. Sam Houston National ForestĪt first glance, a heavily canopied forest wouldn’t seem the ideal place to access clear, open skies. Plus, HAS membership includes opportunities to attend Texas Star Parties -stargazing gatherings that bring together amateur astronomers from across the state. But if you’re up for the commitment, the membership dues and training are a worthy trade-off for impeccably clear skies closer to home. Access to the site requires membership and orientation training, and if you want to visit their observatory and its three telescopes, you’ll need to participate in an additional training course. Located 80 miles west of Downtown in Columbus is the Houston Astronomical Society’s Dark Site, a hard-core astronomy buff’s dream with various stargazing resources. Use of the observatory requires a reservation in advance, but on the off chance your chosen night has overcast skies, you can still look forward to seeing previously captured images and taking a tour of the area. At this collaboration between the park and the Houston Museum of Natural Science, the museum equipped the observatory with everything you need to advance your astronomical education, including powerful telescopes, live camera feeds, constellation laser tours, and on-site experts. While just strolling through Brazos Bend State Park at night will give you the chance to spot a constellation or two, the George Observatory offers guided tours of the stars. Or better yet, camp out for the night! George Observatory After a long day of outdoor activities, make this park your last stop before heading home. Set yourself up on the beach side of the park with your binoculars, or stroll along the boardwalks while the stars shine down on you from above. Galveston Island State Park is located far enough from the heart of the city that you can enjoy clear skies and spottable constellations at night. Galveston Island State ParkĪlthough Galveston has its fair share of light pollution, one stargazing spot is still worthy of your time on Houston’s favorite island. If you stay overnight in a rented campsite, your stargazing won’t have to end at the park’s 10 p.m. Star seekers can look forward to traversing the park’s many trails with their binoculars or settling down by the Brazos River with their telescope. At this spot less than an hour from Downtown, the city’s infamous light pollution is still a little visible, but not so much that it ruins the night sky. If you’re looking for something close to home, Brazos Bend State Park is the ideal stargazing location.

I don't have the resources to validate MrSnowflake's conclusion that it's impossible to style alert dialog buttons in XML, but unless we're facing one of those somewhat nasty aspects of Android where a feature is really missing, I find it unlikely.Īs a matter of fact, what's missing in the question is the most relevant part in this respect, namely I can't figure out exactly when this was introduced but it hasn't been Android 2.2 and Eclipse will tell you anyway. the alert dialog style has been around for quite some time but is limited to providing (background) drawables for "fullDark", "topDark" etc.Ĭustomizing the alert dialog theme opens a method to provide attributes such as windowBackground, windowTitleStyle and such, but as stated before, you need an Android version which supports the alertDialogThem attribute/item for themes. This is how the markup should look like not all Android versions support all features. In the question's markup, the will do nothing except creating the illusion that you're customizing the alert dialog theme when you're really only customizing the alert dialog style. But the markup used in the question suggests that it does.) (It may or may not be the case that such inconsistent Android versions exist, I don't know for sure. Youâll find out how to implement an AlertDialog using the Kotlin programming. In this post, weâll take a deep look at AlertDialog. Dialogs are popular, and most apps have at least one feature that displays messages using a dialog. So even if is available on your Andoid platform, you still can't utilize its expressional power by hooking a cusomized version back into your own theme unless your Android platform supports an android:alertDialogTheme attribute/item for themes. Kotlin AlertDialog is a kind of dialog that displays a message with either one, two, or three action buttons. There is something wrong with the markup in Steve Haley's question, and it is mixing up alertDialogStyle and alertDialogTheme, most likely because of the fact that alertDialogTheme was introduced long after alertDialogStyle was around. Given that MrSnowflake's reasoning is inaccurate, I'm taking the freedom to provide another answer. (Some other items were deleted for clarity, but they only relate to the title bar.) ideas? show () method: As you may have guessed from the name, this is the actual method thatâll cause the AlertDialog to show. You can set the message using a string parameter or resource ID. myTheme is applied to the whole via the manifest. setMessage () method: This method lets you define the main message that will display in an AlertDialog. Generally, in android we can build AlertDialog in our activity file using different dialog methods. In android Alert Dialogs, we can show a title, up to three buttons, a list of selectable items or a custom layout based on our requirements. What I've got below works for changing the backgrounds, but doesn't do anything with the buttons. The AlertDialog in an android application will contain three regions like as shown below. Does anyone know how to override the default style for AlertDialog buttons? I've looked through the Android source for themes and styles and experimented with different things but I haven't been able to find a way that works.

Garden story video game8/2/2023 There you’ll defeat a boss and then move on to the next seasonal area. They’re all split between conflict, maintenance and foraging that are slowly levelled up over time to unlock new tools or story beats.Īnd so the main rhythm of the game involves completing requests and collecting resources to improve your tools, before access is granted to the dungeon of the area. To do that, you must rebuild the community and connect four areas named after the seasons. It’s up to you, a tiny little grape guardian, to save the world. They teach you to be helpful, doing odd jobs for the people of the island like raising a bridge or repairing wells - all while talking about something called “The Rot”.Īs time goes on, you find out that there’s a dark force at work that’s not only threatening your island but several others as well. One day, the guardian of your town decides to unlock the garden and let you out, then trains you to be a bit of a guardian yourself. But the more you play this game, the more it grows on you like a grapevine. Originally released in 2005 as both Fahrenheit and Indigo Prophecy, the game presented players with in-game decisions and dialogue choices that vastly changed the outcome of the game.
